Letters to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

In collaboration with Hope, Environment, and ArT (HEAT), SDOH & Place Project at UIUC, and Orozco Academy, Women for Green Spaces helped encourage students and community members to write letters or make drawings to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Workshops took place, inviting community members to write letters and learn more about the Monarchs' natural habitats. The letters and drawings support federal protection of Monarch Butterflies, classifying them as a threatened species. Consequently, the Monarch’s habitat will also be protected, creating a healthy and diverse ecosystem that other pollinators and animals will benefit.

Below are some of the drawings and letters submitted by students from Orozco Academy.
